The Minelab EQX 06 is a 6 inch round Double-D waterproof search coil for the EQUINOX series, X-TERRA PRO, X-TERRA ELITE and VANQUISH 360, 460 and 560. Minelab supplies it as a standard coil on the EQUINOX 900, next to the EQX 11, and describes it as very sensitive to small targets and perfect for high trash areas and difficult terrain.
Who the EQX 06 is for
The EQX 06 suits owners of an EQUINOX, X-TERRA PRO, X-TERRA ELITE or VANQUISH 360, 460 or 560 who search dense iron, trashy parks, old foundations or confined areas. The 6 inch round coil makes it easier to investigate closely spaced signals and to work around fences, roots and rocks. EQUINOX 900 owners who need to replace the 6 inch coil that came with the detector get the same coil.
How we use the EQX 06
We switch from an 11 inch coil to the EQX 06 when nearby iron or trash is masking targets worth digging. In target-dense spots, use a suitable Recovery Speed on detectors that let you adjust it, and avoid heavy discrimination that could reject good targets lying next to iron.
The mistake we see most involves the VANQUISH. EQX coils fit the newer VANQUISH 360, 460 and 560, and the original VANQUISH 340, 440 and 540 use their own V8, V10 and V12 coils.
