Minelab V8 8x5 in Coil Skidplate for Vanquish (3011-0413)

This is the genuine Minelab replacement skidplate for the V8 Double-D search coil, part 3011-0413. The V8 is Minelab's small 8x5 in elliptical coil for the Vanquish series, and this cover fits over the bottom of it to take the wear from rocks, gravel, roots and sand so the coil housing does not.

Who This Skidplate Is For

This skidplate is for V8 coil owners whose original skidplate is worn thin, cracked or lost. A new V8 coil already comes with a skidplate, so you only need this part as a replacement.

It fits only the V8. The larger V10 10x7 in and V12 12x9 in Vanquish coils each have their own skidplate. You can find coils and parts for each model in our Minelab Vanquish 460 and Vanquish 560 collections.

Why Replace a Worn Skidplate

• Protects the coil housing. Once a skidplate wears through, the coil shell scrapes directly on the ground. The skidplate is the inexpensive part to replace. The coil is not.
• Suits how the V8 gets used. Minelab recommends the V8 for high-trash sites because it separates targets well. That usually means scrubbing it low through rough park turf, gravel and around roots, which is hard on the bottom of a coil.
• Same shape as the original. It is the Minelab part, made for the V8's 8x5 in elliptical outline.

Compatibility

This skidplate fits the Minelab V8 8x5 in Double-D coil. Minelab lists the V8 coil as compatible with every Vanquish model, including models it no longer makes, so owners of older units can still find the right part:

• Minelab Vanquish 360, Vanquish 460 and Vanquish 560
• Minelab Vanquish 340, Vanquish 440 and Vanquish 540
• Minelab X-Terra Pro and X-Terra Elite fitted with the 8x5 in V8X coil

It does not fit the V10, V12, V10X or V12X coils, or any EQX or Manticore coil.

Practical Tips

Turn your coil over every few months and check the skidplate. Replace it once you see bare spots, deep gouges or a crack, before the wear reaches the coil. After beach or water hunts, rinse out any sand trapped between the skidplate and the coil so it does not grind against the housing.
