A traditional VLF detector runs a single frequency, which forces a trade-off: low frequencies reach deeper on high-conductivity targets like silver, while high frequencies hit small, low-conductivity targets like gold and fine jewelry. A simultaneous multi-frequency detector removes that compromise by transmitting and receiving multiple frequencies at once and combining the data in real time.
