Why Add the PRO-FIND 40

Once the EQUINOX 900 gives you a target, the pinpointer is what gets it out of the hole fast. The PRO-FIND 40's ferrous tone ID tells you whether the object in the plug is iron before you dig further, its five sensitivity levels let you turn it down in mineralized ground, and its 10 ft waterproof rating means it goes in the water with the detector. The included holster clips to your belt or the finds pouch. Spare 9 V batteries are the only consumable. Field Use

Parks and Schoolyards

Park 1 with the EQX11, 5 Tones, Recovery Speed 5 or 6 and mid-range Iron Bias. Clad and silver read in the 80s and 90s; pull tabs scatter through the 40s and 50s. Swap to the EQX06 for the trashy strip along paths where the 11 in coil masks coins next to can slaw, and let the PRO-FIND 40 find the coin in the plug so the hole stays small.

Farm Fields and Relic Sites

Field 2, Recovery Speed 6 to 8, low Iron Bias and tracking ground balance keep the machine quiet across changing soil and unmask non-ferrous targets beside nails. The pinpointer's ferrous tone saves you from chasing every nail to the bottom of the hole.

Beach and Shallow Water

Beach 1 for dry and wet sand, Beach 2 in the water. Multi-IQ handles salt where single-frequency machines fall apart. The PRO-FIND 40 is waterproof to 10 ft so it stays on your belt in the surf; the ML 85 headphones are not waterproof, so switch to the speaker or waterproof wired headphones once you are in the water. Gold Prospecting

Gold 1 and Gold 2 run higher frequencies in Multi-IQ for small nuggets.
